Here’s a tip I picked up while writing up a business plan.
RESEARCH! RESEARCH! RESEARCH!
If you are going to do business in a western society, they have (alhumdulilah) many resources that give statistics and numbers to better understand the current economic situation. For example, Say you want to start a brick-n-mortar store, you would first check the census to see the demographics of the area. Then look at the general income of the population of that area. then research the location. See if traffic there is heavy or not. If Traffic is heavy, you might want to make sure you pick a location where customers can easily make stops on their way to (whatever) their destination and not have to go around in circles just to get to your store.
